I have met Marius and the “Active Weekends” more than a year ago and since then I attended several hiking trips with him , one day trip or multiple days tur. Marius is an exemplary ture guide, very well prepared , careful on details. During our trips he is concerned about the safety of all participants and more than happy to share with you his love and passion for the mountains.

Last week we did a 4-day hiking trip in the Apuseni Mountains with our kids (9 & 11 years old) and it was the best!
Marius is a very professional mountain guide. The harder parts went smoothly, even with our kids, and he made sure everybody was safe at all times.
Since we are not from Romania Marius could learn us a lot about the country, the mountains and the history as well.
This was definately the highlight of our vacation in Romania!

My boyfriend and I went for a hike with Marius and we had a great experience. Marius is a very good guide and showed us some really nice spots in the Western Carpathians. He picked us up in Cluj in the morning and then we drove to the mountain regions, where we first went for an 1,5 h hike to a waterfall and then drove to another spot where we went for our second hike, to an old fortress. We had great views of the mountains and ancient Romanian and Hungarian villages. We finished the tour with a delicious lunch at a local guest house.
I would certainly recommend this tour if you want the experience the nature and culture in the surroundings of Cluj!

Anyone can hike some hills and mountains on their own. So what makes a mountain guide indispensable and worth paying for? Marius has proven that besides taking some photos and admiring the landscape, there is an educational side of hiking - as the principles of ecoturism tell us. Learning how to get your way around with a map and compass, knowing how to hike safely with a rope is what can make a difference between hiking on your own and having a `fine trip`, and being guided by Marius and having an `awesome trip`.
So, at the end of the day, I had this feeling of completion by receveing more than I expected from an ordinary hike. Thank you, Marius, and keep up the good work! The mountains are grateful for people like you!

We had a really great day out in the mountains. The scenery was awesome, everybody was superfriendly, our guide was a true blessing showing us lots of tips about hiking and orientation. And a surprize was expecting for us at the end of the day.... a delicious dinner at the Kiraly pension. I would appreciate it so much if Marius would organize this kind of trips more often 🙂

During this one day hike in Scarita Belioara sight from Apuseni Mountains, we immerse ourselves in this beautiful part of nature and discovered stunning views, unique species of plants and unbelievable floral scents. Marius, our guide, was great, gave us useful tips and overall, made us feel safe and well looked after.
