The Transylvanian Alps
We invite you on a day trip to the Făgăraș Mountains, also known as the Transylvanian Alps, the perfect recipe for a day spent at altitude that you will not soon forget!
The Fagaras Mountains are famous for their unique alpine landscapes, the highest peaks in Romania and the wilderness of their valleys. In other words, the Fagaras Mountains are the ultimate mountains, because here the peaks, edges, rock walls, valleys and trails are larger than in any other mountain range in Romania.
The green faces, combined with rock walls and crystalline waterfalls, give these mountains a completely unique charm.
At the same time, the biodiversity is remarkable; the length and width of its valleys are vast wilderness areas that shelter the largest population of wild animals in Europe, being one of the few wild places left on the old continent. Last but not least, let’s not forget the spectacular Transfăgărășan, the road that connects Transylvania to Wallachia, one of the most spectacular roads in the world.
Difficulty of the trail: We will choose the hike which suits the groups level of fitness. We can choose from easy hikes (3-4 hours with elevation up to 600 meters, moderate with 6-7 hours and up to 1000 meters elevation or difficult with 8-10 hours with more than 1000 meters elevation.
Transportation: We will leave from Cluj-Napoca, and return to the city by private car or minibus (depending on the size of the group)
Flexibility: The tour is flexible and can be altered on the spot, depending on the group request, weather condition, and your physical training.
